Cranberry Bars Recipe Reviews - Allrecipes.com (Pg. 1)

I love the combination of cranberry and orange in this recipe. I used frozen cranberries and it worked great! There is quite a bit of topping and crust, and it is pretty crumbly, but good! I wish it didn't have so much butter and sugar in it. I think next time I'll try a recipe that uses sour cream instead. The bars taste great if you can afford the calories! Oh and I forgot to add the walnuts, but it turned out fine.

These are very good! I will probably add more filling the next time. I used old fashioned oats and it added to the crunch. Making the filling out of fresh rhubarb will be my next attempt. With some adjustments, these could become one of my favorites!

These were really simple to put together and will make a nice addition to cookie trays for the holidays. If you can time it right, they would be great served warm out of the oven with a scoop of vanilla icecream. I feel like I want to drizzle them with dark chocolate but I was under strict orders from my husband to "leave them alone!" Would definitely make again.

These were well liked in my house but personally I felt they were a little dry. The recipe calls for 2 cups of cranberries but one bag has about 2-1/2 cups. Next time I would just use the whole bag since I felt the filling was a bit thin anyway. I would adjust the filling ingredients up a bit to compensate. I would also like to try adding in some frozen blueberries. I only used about 1 tsp. orange rind and it was plenty. I think the orange flavor would be overpowering with a full tablespoon. It was good served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side.

This was a good recipe, however not a great one. I do love the hint of orange in it, but i felt like I had way too much of the crust mixture, so I ended up using the other half for another pan of bars. I don't like a lot of crust, so I used what I needed to make a nice crust on bottom and just sprinkled it generously on top, ont covering it entirely. That worked. Next time I'll cut the crust mixture in half. Great taste, though, I will say.

very tasty. not too sweet, not too tart. next time i think i'll add even more orange flavor to it, but that is simply my preference rather than a recommendation. key words in that last sentence: "next time"!!!
