Cookie Jar Nut Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts

Directions

  1. In a mixing bowl, cream butter and brown sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in milk and vanilla. Combine flour, baking soda, salt and nutmeg; gradually add to the creamed mixture. Stir in walnuts. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls 2 in. apart onto ungreased baking sheets. Flatten with a glass dipped in sugar. Bake at 350 degrees F for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove to wire racks to cool.
