I forgot the sugar at first and we rinsed the pasta, so it was a little bit watery when we finished. That said, I cut down on the amount of sauce a little and there was a lot at the bottom of the bowl.

I have made this recipe twice to rave reviews. Only changes from the original was cutting the sugar down to 1/2 cup, using scallions instead of the onion and I omitted the peppers. I found making the salad the night before gives the flavors a chance to meld and cuts down the sweetness.

This was delicious! A huge hit! I would recommend the same as a few other comments, not to use as much sugar or vinegar, as I halfed it and it was still plenty sweet. Also to wait to mix the macaroni together with the sauce til the day of. Was very creamy and good!

This macaroni salad is the best I've ever tasted. My family now calls it "Bangin' Macaroni Salad" and we no longer buy from the grocery store. It's become my new job during the summer. :-) I add the carrot, but not the pimento peppers. I also add garlic powder. I use lowfat Mayo and cut the sugar to 1/3 cup, to make it a little healthier.

This is the best Macaroni Salad I have ever made! I followed the recipe exactly, but did not use the optional pimentos. Made it for Christmas Eve and everyone loved it. I will definitely make it again and again. Thank you!

I made this exactly like the recipe without the optional shredded carrots. It is awesome! If you want a make salad that taste like it is from the store's deli but with your own fresh ingredients, this is it!! I have been looking for a make salad that tastes like this for what seems like forever. Thanks you!!

I love this salad! I've made it numerous times and it's my go-to recipe whenever I need to make a sharable dish. For those that thought it was too sweet... put it back in the fridge! The first time I made it I remember thinking it was oddly sweet too. But as it sits in the fridge the flavors come together and it becomes absolutely wonderful. Thanks for sharing!

This is an awesome salad recipe. I found it works best if I make the dressing and refrigerate it for an hour or so before mixing with the vegetables and macaroni - it's thicker and creamier and sticks together better.
