Doubled the filling (except the nuts) but it was way too much! I froze the left over. Couldn't figure out how to braid so I cut each rectangle lengthwise in half, spread the filling, rolled them up the long way and formed them into a spiral. The icing need much more milk than one tablespoon. They turned out huge! Maybe next time I'll roll them and cut them into 1" rounds. Also, don't use a flat baking pan because the butter will drip out all over the oven!! Woe is me. Thanks for a self-cleaning oven!

This was spectacularly delicious! I Doubled and made 8 loafs. I gave one to everyone seated at my easter table this year. Everyone raved and raved about them! My husband helped "braid" :) that was amusing. Definately some effeort and time involved BUT so worth it!

SHORTCUT!!! Use crescent rolls dough! I did and it was GREAT! (and less headache too) Just spread it on thin. The filling goes a long way. OR Phillsbury has crescent roll dough in 1 full sheet so you can make a loaf or two. I fell in love with Panera Bread's pecan braid so this was the best way to save my gas & $. Also there is a VIDEO from HOWDINI for "Pumpkin Pecan Braid" that shows exactly how to "braid" the bread for those of you who want to make the dough and who read the instructions and get confused like I did. This recipe was so good I had to become a member of Allrecipes just to leave this comment!!!

This recipe was easy to make and very tasty. We made two of the loaves without pecans, and they came out nicely (though the ones with pecans were better). Definitely will make this again!

I am about to sit here and eat a whole loaf of this by myself! This is sooo good. A bit time consuming, but worth it for 4 of these. I doubled the filling recipe as well, and while I had some leftover I can't imagine having enough filling with the current recipe.

Great recipe! I also doubled the filling per another review, and it was great! I had to bake it for a little less time, but that is probably a difference in my oven. Everyone loved it!

Whoa .. this was sooo good. I was tired of baking the usual cookies and muffins for my kids lunches at school .. so decided to try this recipe .. I modified it by ommitting the pecans and adding diced apples and raisins ... I also did not put the dough in the fridge overnight but just left it on the counter for an hour or so .. still the recipe was outstanding. Will be making this again. Would also be excellent with a peach filling. Dough was like a cinnamon role and my kids devoured this and my daughters friend who was over at the time even asked for the recipe to take home.
