Chunky Pecan Bars Recipe Reviews - Allrecipes.com (Pg. 1)
Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2007
This was easy to make but the gooey pecan chocolate mixture seeped through the cookie bottom and the bars was completely stuck on the pan. My pan is pretty much ruined because I was trying to get them out! But they are sweet and yummy...once they come out of the pan. :)

I thought these were good. Similiar to pecan pie, but in bar form. I added a little extra butter to that first crust layer. Also make sure you grease the pan so that these bars come out easily!! They were chocolaty, nutty, and moist.

Very rich & yummy. Made them for a party & got great reviews. Chill before cutting so they don't break apart, and then cut them small...they are very rich & chocolate-y! I mentioned that I might cut down on the chocolate the next time, and all the guests cried out "NO!!"...so I guess I won't. :) Helpful note...I didn't have dark corn syrup, but I found the following substitution for it online...1 c white sugar + 1/4 c water + 1/4 c molasses....and then I just used 3/4 c of that mixture.

Love this recipe. Couldn't find mine so found it on my favorite recipe site. I have made this many times and it is always a favorite. I have used different flavor of chips in addition to the chunky chocolate for an added flavor. A favorite is to add butterscotch chips. I usually add about 1/2 cup. There have been times where I did 1 cup choc. chunks and 3/4 cup of choc. chips. It has been a fun recipe to experiment with.
