This turned out really really good. When I pureed the sauce in the blender I was very unimpressed, was ready to scour the fridge for a backup plan for dinner, but I found that after you pour it over the chicken, let it mix with the chicken juices and cook down a little, it becomes a totally different animal. :) I did top it with a little cheese and diced fresh tomatoes.
The sauce was very tasty, but it didn't soak into the chicken very well. Next time I make this I will leave the chicken simmering in the sauce for at least 40 minutes before serving. Either that or buying thinner chicken breasts...
I agree - 5*.......without doubt! Couldn't find Poblano chiles - settled for canned mild green chiles. WONDERFUL flavor!!!
This was just ok for me. I followed the directions exactly except I just added a little cilantro to the puree. Probably won't make it again.
This was very delicious and quite low calorie, especially when you use fat free sour cream and lite dressing. I served this with rice and a side salad.
This recipe was very easy but tasted wonderful. I couldn't believe how flavorful the sauce was for the small number of ingredients used. I will use this sauce for many Mexican inspired dishes.
Fantastic recipe! Keeps chicken juicy, and has the perfect and mild amount of heat! I'll fix this again and again!
I have had a dish similar to this in Mexico, but the chicken breast was stuffed with mango, mushrooms, and red onion for an added dimension.
I live in Montana and can find poblanos in all grocery stores but they are always mislabeled as pasilla.
