HORMEL® Hot Dogs
hot dog buns, split
1 (15 ounce) can
HORMEL® Chili No Beans
Dill pickle relish or chopped dill pickle
Pepperoncini pepper rings
I didn’t have dill pickle relish so I used sweet pickle relish. I didn't have any tomatoes. I HAD to have cheese so I sprinkled on a little sharp cheddar. I had made my own chili yesterday (sorry Hormel) and it had beans. I broiled my dogs instead of grilled. I give it 5 stars anyway. It was a yummy but, except for the pepperoncini and celery salt, a fairly obvious chili dog recipe. The celery salt, by the way, is used on New York System Wieners, found in Rhode Island diners (yeah I know, surprisingly not New York). There’s a great recipe for those on this site. For a little extra panache I spread my hot dog buns with a little margarine and toast them under the broiler until brown. Delicious!
This was definately different from the way I eat a hotdog. It was good. Messy, but good!
