Yes, YES, YES!!!!!!!!!! These are THE best cookies I have EVER made. They are crisp on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. Perfect!!
Being a bit hopeless when it comes to cooking sweets, I did read previous reviews and only attempted half a batch. For this I increased the amount of flour used to 1 1/2 cups, the amount of baking powder to 1 tspn (my jar says to use 2 tspn per 4 cups of flour), and the cocoa by maybe an extra 2 tbpsn. I did everything else as per the recipe. I found 9 minutes not long enough, but I think given all ovens cook differently, this is just a typical fiddle until you find the right time/temp.
And that was it!! "They aren’t half bad, are they!" is a rave review from my 5 year old who NEVER eats home made cookies! We gorged ourselves on these and will most definately make again!!
UPDATE: I have just made these again, only two days later, and this time used wholemeal flour since that was all I had. These cookies are going to be so bad for my waist-line...I can't stop eating them! The kids love them...everyone loves them! Can I give another five stars....?!!
