These were really good. I didn't look at how many servings it makes before I started to make the recipe - it only makes 4 biscuits. The next time I make these I'll definitely double or triple the recipe. I didn't have shortening so I just used the same amount of butter and they still turned out great. I also love cheese so I added extra. I'm definitely going to be making more of these.

This is the best recipe I have ever found for biscuits that actually turned out for me! I omitted the onion and did not have buttermilk, but instead used 2% milk with lemon juice. They were fluffy, soft, and super tasty! Thanks for the great recipe that gave my husband and I renewed hope in my baking ability! :)

I used 1/2 cup of muenster cheese and a dash of parm instead of cheddar. I don't like to cook with shortening so a bit of butter subbed fine as well.

These are fabulous!! Like most cooks, I changed everything ;-). We are working with a dairy allergy, so I subbed organic coconut oil and daiya. I also added bacon, because it just seemed like a good idea. They are wonderful. Kudos to the cook who can write a recipe that withstands everyone's changes and still gets 5 stars!!

These were very dry. They also needed a little melted butter on top to add a little flavor.

I used whole wheat white flour and added a tsp. of garlic. I did have to add just a little more buttermilk, but I think it was because of the flour I used. These were good, though I wish they were a little fluffier and they were a bit dry. Next time, I'd use all baking powder and perhaps use cold butter (and perhaps more?)instead of shortening.

Increase the cheese and onions. Bake for 10 minutes longer. Add hot pepper flakes.
