Ingredients

  • 3 pounds cabbage, coarsely chopped
  • 1/2 cup finely shredded carrot
  • 1/2 cup chopped green pepper
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon celery seed

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine cabbage, carrot and green pepper. In a saucepan, combine sugar, vinegar, salt and celery seed; bring to a boil. Pour over cabbage mixture and toss. Cover and refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight.
