NESTLE® CARNATION® Sweetened Condensed Milk
yellow food coloring
grated lemon peel
Optional: sifted powdered sugar
This is a very tasty lemon bar. To make cutting and serving a bit easier, I lined the pan with parchment paper. Foil would work as well. Leave a little paper hanging ove the edge and when the bars cool, just lift the whole thing out then it's a cinch to cut even pretty bars.
I cooked exactly as recipe. Difficult to cut from a glass pan. Did not look nice enough to serve for guests.
Great! Refreshing taste. best if made in a jellyroll pan. easier to cut into neat pieces. Suggest cutting with a wet knife.
the crust wasn't sweet enough. i think adding the condensed milk made the filling too fluffy. not the best recipe for lemon bars
i cooked my crust for about 20 mins until it was golden brown, then i put the filling in to bake. i also added 1/2 tsp. of lemon extract to the filling because some of the reviews said that the bars were not lemony enough. i loved the flavor and thought they came out good, what i did not like was that they do not come out of the pan easily. may it is beacuse i cooked the crust, oh well.
Pretty good, but mine was gooey in the center--I may make a gain but bake a few minutes longer--tasted both tart and sweet!
