After reading some of the reviews, I modified the recipe as follows:
1. I used tart granny smith apples;
2. I used a glass pan and sprayed it with Pam before baking;
3. I dusted flour over the apples and dots of butter as well as the caramel sauce (flour and butter to thicken the juices while it baked);
4. When making the streusel topping I mixed with my hands until crumbly - two knifes don't yield the same results.
The results were to die for - not too sweet, thickened and juicy, tart and delicious. Perfect!
