  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Place pie crust on baking sheet; pour 1/2 can of pie filling into crust and spread evenly. Set aside.
  2. With a mixer, beat together cream cheese, sugar, lemon juice, and vanilla until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing after each addition; pour filling over apple layer. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until center is almost set. Cool.
  3. Prior to serving, garnish (in this order) with remaining apple filling, caramel sundae syrup, and optional toasted pecans. *Helpful Hint: Spread out pecans evenly on a baking sheet. Place into a 375 degrees F oven for 3-5 minutes or until pecans are well toasted.

This was great! Do not use the 20 oz. of caramel topping-I used a 12 oz. bottle and that was more than enough.

First of all, the caramel is wayyyy to much! I recommend drizzing it to your liking on each individual slice, and the presentation of it will turn out better too. I used two eggs, because there was no way I was about to put 3 in such a small recipe (it still turned out fine). I wasn't too crazy about the apple pie filling though. It tasted too artificial. Try some other flavor or make your own for a nice touch. Overall, this recipe didn't knock my socks off.

I used this recipe for a Halloween themed party & added green food coloring to the apple pie topping. I also reserved a tablespoon or so of the cheesecake mixture and glopped it in with the apple topping to give a good slimey effect. Gummy worms are also a good thing for "Rotten Apple Pie"

this was easy to make and delicious to eat. i bought a 15 oz bottle of caramel topping, but the cheesecake didn't need all that much. i'll definitaly make this again.

This was a great cheesecake recipe, it turned out delicious and it was really easy to make. I found that you don't need to add as much of the caramel sauce as the recipe says.

I tried this for the first time for Thanksgiving Day dinner and it was a big hit. It looked so good no one believed I had baked it myself. Then when they tasted it, they accused me of buying it from a bakery. But they loved it and so will your family and guest.

I made this when we had friends over for dinner. 2 of us liked it, 2 of us thought it was too sweet. I think maybe I don't prefer the canned apple topping. If I make again, I'll create my own apple filling. And maybe use fewer eggs in the cheesecake portion. 3 eggs is an awful lot - a standard cheesecake typically only uses 1 egg for each 8oz of cream cheese.
