Directions

  1. In a small bowl, beat together eggs, coffee liqueur, and sugar.
  2. In a small saucepan, combine milk and coffee granules; heat over medium high heat for 2 to 3 minutes, until milk is steaming and tiny bubbles appear around edge of saucepan. Beat milk into eggs. Strain egg mixture through sieve into a pitcher. Carefully pour egg mixture into tart shells, filling evenly (tarts will be very full). Sprinkle each tart with a little cinnamon.
  3. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees) for 20 to 25 minutes, or until filling is set and tart shells are golden brown. Cool before serving.

I made the mistake of using phyllo shells and the filling just soaked into them. I can't recalll seeing 3" tart shells so I will have to look for these next time. (Frozen or not?) Also, I did bake some of the filling in a small glass dish, since the shells didn't work, and I don't think it tasted rich or creamy the way I was hoping. This recipe sounds delicious but needs a little tweakin.

Came out quite spongy, was not sweet enough by far

These tarts were quick and easy. The filling only filled 9 tart shells, but they were great. Would definitely make again.

I love the taste of cappuccino, but this was too coffee flavored and I only used 3 TBSP of coffee liquere. Next time I will try using less coffee crystals and I think it will be fine.
