I cut the bottom off of the cabbage and placed the whole head in boiling, salted water for about 10 min. This made it easier to remove each leaf. I chose not to use the crockpot and, instead, placed the 12 cabbage rolls in a 9x13 baking pan. After pouring the sauce over all of the rolls, I left it uncovered and baked it for an hour and a half at 350. They turned out very pretty and very tasty. Cooking in a crockpot would probably make the cabbage leaves more tender, but either way, this is a keeper.
