good recipe- as I love homemade pancakes. I did some tweaking, added 1/2 cup of cornmeal, reduced flour to 2 1/2. Adds a better texture. Also added 1/3 cup of veg oil and 1/2 of the butter required. Also added tbl spoon of vanilla extract. It was great. The recipe adds a foundation and you can tweak how you like it :)

As written, we found these to be bland, but had a good texture. I added 3 tsp of vanilla, 1TBSP of sugar, and 1/2 tsp of salt to give these umph! Some felt they were a little eggy, but most of my crew really enjoyed them.

I made a half-batch of these this morning and got six *large* pancakes, so the original recipe would make more than twelve 5" pancakes. I used lowfat buttermilk, Splenda in place of sugar and 2 eggs (instead of the 1.5 recommended for a half-batch). The batter was thicker than I expected but the results were thick and fluffy, even at high altitude. Letting the buttermilk come to room temperature definitely helped with the fluffiness. Very easy, tasty recipe.

This is my go to recipe for pancakes, I will never use a boxed mix again, it just doesn't compare by any means. Delicious!

Great recipe. Light, fluffy, perfect pancakes. Very happy - followed it to the letter (used actual buttermilk) and they turned out PERFECTLY. I made 2/3 of the recipe - fed 3 adults and a hungry 5-year-old with a couple leftover. Popped the leftover pancakes in the toaster on low heat, ate with fried apples the next day.

Out of the two recipes I use for pancakes this one is the BEST. I love being able to use all the buttermilk I have left over from other recipes for these. My family loves them!! Such a great Sunday morning breakfast. :)
