Directions

  1. Melt butter in a large skillet with olive oil over medium heat; place asparagus spears in the skillet.
  2. When asparagus starts to sizzle slightly, drizzle in the hot pepper sauce and add almonds, Italian seasoning, and onion to the skillet.
  3. Move the asparagus around in the skillet with a spoon to expose almonds and onion to the butter and oil; cook until onion is translucent, about 5 minutes. Reduce heat to low, and season with salt and black pepper.
  4. Sprinkle asparagus with Parmesan cheese and heat until cheese melts, about 5 more minutes.

I think that this was a very nice recipe. The addition of hot sauce made a nice change. Sorry but i did not think that this was an over the top 5 star recipe but still good enough to put in my menu rotation occasionally. Thanks for posting the recipe.

Nice change from traditionally steamed asparagus, gave a traditional dinner a very strong look on the table...

I found the flavor of the sesame oil to be overwhelming. I don't think I'd make this recipe again, but if so, I would do half or less than half the sesame oil.
