1 (10 ounce) package
frozen chopped broccoli, thawed and well drained
shredded low-fat Cheddar cheese
Sweet 'n Spicy sauce:
packed brown sugar
It was pretty good, but I didn't think there was enough cheese. I would probably alter it next time by using the frozen broccoli and cheese sauce and then adding some additional cheese maybe. All in all, pretty good.
I didn't, however, make the sauce. It didn't sound very appealing to me, so I just left it out, and served the meatloaf with veggies and mashed potatoes.
dont use frozen broccoli
This was a very good change from ordinary meatloaf. The sauce was almost a sweet BBQ flavored. I did add bacon to top before cooking. A keeper!
Only gave it a four because I used ground beef instead of turkey, but it was absolutely delicious that way! I was wondering if the sauce would work well with the ground beef and it sure did! It's the best meatloaf we have had in awhile.
Love this recipe, and have it pretty regularly. I use a "melty-er" cheese (usually a little bit of velveeta)and if you wait until it cools a bit before cutting it will be creamy and delicious in the middle. If you cut it while it's too hot, the stuff in the middle leaks out!
I added another 1/2 package of turkey, 1/4 cup of oats, and 1 more egg. The original quantity seemed flimsy. It came out very nice. Also, I used more onion than the recipe called for. IMO, you can't have too much onion.
This was good, I didn't think there was enough meat to wrap around the "stuffing" but the flavor was good!
Mine turned out more layered than stuffed. Good flavor.
