I made 1/4th of the recipe to try it out. Used 1/4 c of everything thru the wheat flour, 1/8 cup of flax, didn't have wheat germ, think it would have tasted really really wheaty with that, but flax seemed fine. 1 egg, 1/2c chopped pecans, no coconut and 2 single "tiny ones" hershey chocolate chopped. Made this in an 8x8 pan sprayed. Taste was not overly sweet as in some of the comments, not under sweet because I did use chocolate, just not as much (cut in half). Only complaint was the mixture when being pressed in seemed too crumbly and didn't hold together well for me. These turned out thin because I only did 1/4th of the batch, but maybe adding water or honey or something would have helped, but I tried to not add anything additional to give it a proper rating. Any additions I would make (making same amount I did), would be to add something to make it hold better on the bottom like butter, honey or water or combo. Then I would put in dried fruit like raisins, chopped dried apricots, dates, cranberries or something instead of the coconut, so there are options. Again, taste was good for me because I did not have certain things and just used what I had, may try to make again with dried fruit and try to fix the crust.... if it had been too sweet or wheaty tasting, I would not try again.
