Ingredients

  • 2 pounds bacon, chopped
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 3 pounds fresh green beans, trimmed

Directions

  1. Heat a large pot over medium-high heat. Add bacon, onion and garlic, and cook until browned. Gradually stir in the green beans, stirring to coat with bacon grease. Reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 5 to 6 hours, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
