Good spanish rice, BUT...I am Puerto Rican and the secret is Cilantro, fresh minced cilantro...cut up about a 1/3 cup and fold it in about a couple of minutes before serving it and it will be perfect!

I didn't have salsa so I added a can of diced tomatoes and green chilies. I also diced and sauteed a clove of garlic.

I love this recipe. My little gobbled it up. To make it healthier, I added in some extra veggies (mushrooms) and used brown rice, instead of white. The brown rice needs more water to cook, but I'm not sure how much more, as when I did it, I just added water as it called for.

My family loved this. I used Pace chunky medium salsa and followed the directions just as written, except I added some garlic. My husband really loved it, because it isn't a real thick, dense, sticky rice. The kernels stay seperate. Making it again tonight!

I have made this many times now. Sometimes with quick brown and others with white. It always turns out perfect. I think people that didn't care for it used a salsa that was not good to start with...the rice can only be as good as the salsa. I use Jack's Cantina Style. There is no added sugar and only natural ingredients and the taste is amazing on it's own.

Excellent recipe and made exactly but addedd 1 pound of cooked and drained hambuger as I made as meal dish. Perfect with a salad. Thanks for the submission.
