I use 1 1/4 of water and 1 tbs of sugar and 2 tbs of oil. I also use 3 tsps of fermipan yeast. I'll put 2 tbs of sugar if iI make a sweet bread.

Tried this recipe to the letter, thanks for the format of placing wet ingredients first. After experimenting with different flour and yeast. King Arthur Bread flour and Hodgson Mill active dry yeast packet gave me the best rise and much better tasting loaf. I also used 4 tablespoons of canola oil and placed the 1-1/2 teaspoon of salt last on top of the flour.

Have made this many times and it's great! I use honey instead of sugar and I use coconut oil to make it a little bit healthier. Wonderful easy recipe.

This recipe was AMAZING! It was my first attempt at using a Bread Machine. Even though I tend to tweak recipes to my liking, I left this one as is to see how it worked out. The bread was perfect! DONT SUBSTITUTE A THING!! :) It's beyond perfect!

Great recipe! I set my machine on the dough setting, then took it out to cook in the oven after (in an 8x4 pan at 375 F for about 30 min). Turned out really yummy, will make great sandwich bread.

Well made this bread yesterday, and only have one small piece left. So guess what I'm doing right now? Yup, making another loaf, to take to work for the week, hope it last that long. Yesterday while I was making it, I messed up on the amount of flour, but the bread was perfect, so I guess if you make a mistake just go ahead and see what happens! This is a keeper for me :)

So... I thought this recipe was disgusting. Mind you, my ingredients were sparse so I've been making the peasant bread recipe on allrecipes and loved it - but when I got oil, I wanted to try another recipe and tried this one. The flavor was very 'blah'. The texture was okay and it rose well enough. However, the bread also fell apart the moment I cut it. The peasant bread didn't do that. This recipe was just...a letdown, all around.
