These cookies turned out perfect(better than toll house). As is, you don't need to change anything. Just follow the recipe and don't forget to beat the BUTTER (not margarine... yuck) with the sugers until creamy and then add eggs and beat again until thick and creamy, it will lighten up. Stir in the flour mixture and at this point be careful not to over mix it. I baked on parchment paper for 13-14 mins. They were perfect, everybody raved about them. I added 1/8 tsp. Vietnamese cinnamon and a pinch of cardemom for my special signature. :)I will be making these for my cafe. Thank you Elizabeth for a great recipe!!!

The batter didn't flatten out well and was fairly dry. The cookies hardened quickly and were not as good a day later as the were fresh out of the oven. I will not be making this one again, we prefer the molasses version that is thick and chewy for up to a week after being baked.

Made exactly as directed. My family loved them, they were a little too sweet for me. Despite that they were still a delicious cookie. Thanks for the recipe!

The first time I made these I was very disappointed at the dry texture and blandness of these cookies. This time, I smartened up a bit and added 1 Tbsp coconut oil along with my Crisco butter and used 1/2 cup of oats included with the flour. Added cinnamon and extra vanilla extract as well. Make half chocolate chip, half raisin. Delicious!

I love this recipe. I use it every time I bake chocolate chip cookies and it is the only recipe I use. Every time I bake these, they come out perfect.

I loves these cookies!!! They are probably the best I've ever had. The only reason I did not give them a full 5 stars is because I think they taste better with a bag of unsweetened cocoanut. I find them more chewy when I add it.
