My husband absolutely loves this recipe for baked beans. I have a jar of bacon grease in the fridge that I use (just enough to saute the peppers), rather than adding actual bacon (only because it tends to get soggy -- which is unappealing to our family). Otherwise, I give this recipe 5 stars for ease of prep and overall taste. Letting these beans sit uncovered for a while after baking helps them thicken up so they aren't running all over your plate.
