This is a great base to experiment with. I used the original recipe taking into consideration some of the modifications - 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1 egg and 2 egg whites, applesauce instead of butter, then added chopped up apples and fresh cranberries (put cranberries in saucepan with 3/4 cup water, 1/2 cup white sugar, and lemon zest. Bring to boil and cook until all cranberries pop and mixture thickens up - about 15 minutes.) Once that cools down fold it into your oatmeal mixture before putting in baking dish. Cook regular time. The cranberries and lemon zest bring it up a notch!
