avocados - halved, peeled, and pitted
2 (3.88 ounce) tins
herring fillets packed in oil or Pacific Pilchards
pimento-stuffed green olives, chopped
pickled gherkins, chopped
freshly ground black pepper to taste
green onions, finely chopped
I left the gherkins out because I don't care for them and I used herring because I couldn't find pilchards. I don't think I would call this a pâté, it is a bit too loose, but it is really tasty. I have to be honest, I made this on a dare and was happily surprised.
Wonderfully flavourful! Use as a dip with lavash bread or toast.
