I followed the recipe as written and it was wonderful! Made it in two square pans and shared it with a friend. She found it hidden in her kids' linen closet where they were trying to hide it from her because she was eating all of it!

This was really good with ice cream. Lots of spice taste. In the future, I'll only make this if I'm serving a large group. A lot of it went to waste. :(

Well, it sounded good so I gave it a try. I don't make dessert often but when I do it usually disappears....this one didn't. Maybe it's just because my family is used to the dump cake I make with cherry pie filling and pineapple. Thanks for the chance though....I guess it just wasn't for us.

After reading the other reviews I decided to leave out most of the extra spices. I just sprinkled a little cinnamon and nutmeg over the canned apple filling before dumping the cake mix on top. Tasted great.... loved the toasted pecans on top. I'll make this often, it's so easy and delicious!
