With applesauce, this apple crisp offers twice the apple goodness of others. Applesauce, brown sugar and cinnamon are combined, and stirred into sliced apples. The mixture is then piled into a large baking dish and topped with sugar. The crisp is then baked in the oven for one hour.

My kids love to spread peanut butter on their apples, so one day I thought I would take a favorite of theirs and just tweak it a little bit....voila, a peanut butter and apple sandwich. PB and J can get boring after a while and this provides a healthy alternative.

An apple is filled with a cinnamon cheesecake center. I used a Braeburn apple but any variety will work. Great for a cold night! Serve with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Brown and white sugars, raisins and lemon juice add a wonderful taste and texture to this quintessential apple pie. Be sure to cube or slice the apples uniformly, and, if you like, dot the apples with pats of butter.
