I followed the recipe as is except for subbing pecans for walnuts, and we did not care for this at all. The topping was very "flour-y", dry and bland, not very sweet. I made this for my husband and brother-in-law who both love apple crisp, and honestly it was the worst we've ever had. I've made tons of apple crisp before, and really hoped to like this recipe for something new. It's possible I messed something up, but apple crisp is pretty foolproof I think.
