Directions

  1. PREHEAT oven to 350 degrees F. Grease 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
  2. COMBINE flour, baking powder, cinnamon and nutmeg in medium bowl. Beat granulated sugar and butter in large mixer bowl until creamy. Beat in eggs and vanilla extract until smooth. Alternately beat in flour mixture and evaporated milk. Stir in apples and nuts. Spread batter into prepared baking pan.
  3. BAKE for 40 to 45 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan on wire rack for 20 minutes. Cut into bars. Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.

Wonderful flavor and texture! Instead of sprinkling with powdered sugar, I frosted with the Allspice Cream Cheese frosting from this site. My bunco ladies loved it!

Yummy, topped with a bit of ice cream! :) It was slight on the too-moist side, though..

THIS RECIPE CAME OUT EXACTLY HOW I WANTED IT TO..VERY MOIST W/OUT IT BEING GREASY (I WANTED A RECIPE W/OUT VEG. OIL). I USED WHOLE EVAPORATED MILK INSTEAD OF LOWFAT, USED 1 1/2 TS OF CINN. AND USED A TOPPING OF CHOPPED PECANS AND 1/4 CUP EACH OF BROWN AND WHITE SUGARS. CAME OUT DELISH..NO LEFTOVERS AT THE OFFICE!!! DEFINITELY WILL MAKE AGAIN.
