Directions

  1. Prepare rice according to package directions, using 3 1/4 cup apple juice for the liquid.
  2. Cook diced apple, chopped onion, sliced celery, raisins, poultry seasoning, thyme, and pepper in margarine in a large skillet until the vegetables are tender-crisp. Stir in the cooked brown rice, bran, slivered almonds, and remaining apple juice.
  3. Use as stuffing for poultry or pork roast, or bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.

We used this recipe with brown rice, four diced apples, celery, onion, poultry seasoning and a bit of sugar for our turkey stuffing ... didn't have any of the other ingredients but the stuffing came out AWESOME. It was definitely on the sweet side ... almost a sinful dessert stuffing but surprisingly healthy because of the apple and brown rice!

it does not work the rice does no cook well in the apple juice , it has nice flavor

We didn't have any bran so we made it without the bran. The rice does get tender the other user must not of prepared it as directed as it says "cooked rice". We use this stuffing for our thanksgiving turkey and we love it!
