Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees F. Combine graham cracker crumbs, almonds, sugar and margarine; press firmly on bottom of 9-inch springform pan or 13x9-inch baking pan.
  2. In large mixer bowl, beat cheese until fluffy. Gradually beat in sweetened condensed milk until smooth (do not overbeat). Add eggs and extract; mix well. Pour into prepared pan. Bake 55 to 60 minutes or until center is set. Cool. Top with Almond Praline Topping. Chill. Store leftovers covered in refrigerator.
  3. In small saucepan, combine firmly packed dark brown sugar and whipping cream. Cook and stir until sugar dissolves. Simmer 5 minutes or until thickened. Remove from heat; stir in chopped toasted slivered almonds. Spoon evenly over cake. (For 13x9-inch pan, double all topping ingredients; simmer 10 to 12 minutes or until thickened).

Just WOW. This is the first cheesecake I've ever made and I got absolutely rave reviews. I usually don't eat any desserts that I make, but even I had to indulge! Everyone always asks for the recipe...and for seconds!

Sorry but I did not care for this at all. The almond extract is very overpowering. There was no praline taste to it at all.

This cheesecake was absolutely awesome. I've made alot of cheesecakes and this was one of the best. I had to substitute the sweetened condensed milk with heavy cream and a 1/2 cup sugar because my sweetened condensed milk was bad when I opened it. I also used toasted walnuts.

I've been making this recipe for years. I originally got it out of the Eaglebrand cookbook. It's a family favourite.

This recipe is AWESOME!!! The cheesecake has a wonderful flavor! My entire family raves over it. I made everything how it is stated in the recipe and am very happy with it. My brother has requested one for an FFA fundraiser auction. Enjoy!
