I tried this recipe and it was not a roll out dough, it was a drop dough. Yes, the cookies were pretty good, but it wasn't exactly what my kids and I were looking for.

I followed the recipe to a T, and my dough chilled overnight in fridge..but I have to disagree with the name if this recipe, because I have had some amazing sugar cookies before. These didn't even come close (in my opinion). They were dry and also tasted like flour....if I try again, I will try less flour. My oven cooked them perfectly at 7:30, although we know that all ovens don't have the same temp gauge (just a word to remember).

This recipe was perfect for my annual Christmas cookies. I traveled away from home for the Holidays and couldnt pack my standard recipe book in m suitcase . I looked this one up online with my Nook and it is slightly differrent than the one I usually use. The dough. They rolled out nicley and The family loved them! The tatse and texture of the finished cookie was perfect. I reccomend making them a little thicker so you get a hardy cookie. Thanks for the Holiday Help!

Very good!! Keep the dough cold and keep putting it back in the fridge in chunks and re-rolling with lots of flour and it will turn out great. This makes a lot of cut outs as written. Did freeze some and they defrosted well. Putting colored sugar on some before baking and frosting others added variety. Used a simple powdered sugar, butter, milk frosting and dyed some of it Red for Christmas.

I made these for the holidays, and everyone raved at how good they were. I added the extra cup of sugar and a little more vanilla like someone had suggested. These turned out to be the best sugar cookies that I have ever made !! I will use this recipe everytime I want sugar cookies. Also, I took another person's advice and rolled these out on parchment paper and transferred the cut outs on the parchment paper to the cookie sheet. Wow. What a great trick ! Thank you for sharing this recipe.

Fantastic recipe! I did add some additional sugar and vanilla as many reviews suggested and the results were amazing! Definitely a keeper :)
