  1. Heat the oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the onion, garlic, red chile pepper, brown sugar, and fennel seeds, and cook until onion is tender and sugar has melted. Mix in ketchup and soy sauce. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, and simmer 10 minutes.

Really, really easy and so quick to make!! :) We were really happy with it. We used it in a slow cooker with chicken and it came out great! Thanks for sharing. :)

Interesting flavor with the fennel seeds and soy sauce, very non-traditional. I ran short of BBQ sauce for a slow cooker pulled pork recipe today, so I made this easy sauce, and used about 1/2 ...

instead of onions we used green pepper yummy

Added some water as was too thick, 1 heaping teaspoon of smoked paprika and half teaspoon of cinnamon

I added 4 drops of liquid smoke and yes I will make this again

I made this for my family and they loved the sauce. The only thing I did different is I added extra brown sugar.
