Holiday Milk Punch: the New Eggnog

Holiday Milk Punch: the New Eggnog

"Homemade eggnog is rich, extravagant, irresistible. But the ingredients - heavy cream, raw eggs, sugar and booze - give one pause. A few years back, I discovered a delicious high-flavor, no-risk alternative: milk punch, made with whole milk (no cream, no eggs). And it's easy to make. No cooking, no whipping egg whites and cream: Just mix and freeze. Make a pitcher today, and stick it in the freezer for the season. The spirits keep the milk from freezing; the freezer keeps the milk from spoiling. But remember, it's potent - one of my friends calls it 'the adult milkshake'!"

Most helpful positive review

A fantastic recipe we've made the last few holiday seasons. It's very unusual, and tastes fabulous, way lighter than eggnogg. I cut the alcohol a bit to make it less strong.

Most helpful critical review

It was a little bland, I might try adding some cinnamon or something to it next time.

Great option to Egg Nog. My Husband really liked it. We didn't freeze. It tastes good refrigerated, didn't last long enough to worry about milk spoiling. Will try a batch from freezer next to se...

I make this with a few variations. I use bourbon instead of the whiskey and rum, and I use powdered sugar so its not grainy!! The nutmeg is what makes it delicious!

I like so many of Pam's recipes that I had to try this one and it is a 5 star hit. Taste like eggnog but much much lighter which I like and reminds me too of a Brandy Alexander but again lighter...

This was such a hit. Tasted like a grown up milk shake. I added cinnamon and it turned out great. Will make all year.
