  1. Slice onions as thinly as possible, and place in a large bowl. In a small bowl, mix together water, vinegar and sugar; pour over onions. Cover, and marinate overnight in the refrigerator.
  2. Drain completely, then mix in mayonnaise and celery salt. Chill 2 to 3 hours. Serve with saltine crackers.

I ran across this recipe, and just had to try it as I love onions. The onions are sweet and mild and still have a nice crunch to them. Great with plain saltine crackers - make plenty as they go...

HORRIBLE!!!!!!!! Too sweet and just plain bad. It tastes like something that a 5-year old would try to throw together. Don't even think about making this for a party. YUCK.
