  1. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Make a well in the center, and pour in milk, egg and oil. Mix until smooth.
  2. Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium high heat. Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle, using approximately 1/4 cup for each pancake. Brown on both sides and serve hot.

I cut the baking powder down to 2 teaspoons, added the 1 tsp of vanilla, got rid of the vegetable oil, and added some cinnamon while cooking and they were great! My family loved them.

This recipe was awful! I definately added the vanilla, and cut the baking soda by a teaspoon...If you put an actual teaspoon of salt, it is too much! I would try putting 1/2 the amount or less...
