Suburban Cowboy Delight

"Bacon and ground beef, with chili spices and sweet baked beans gives this dish something the old time cowboys would have appreciated. We eat them with fresh hot sourdough biscuits for a meal that really satisfies."

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, fry bacon pieces until browned. Crumble the ground beef into the skillet with the bacon, and stir in the green pepper and onion. Continue to cook until the beef is no longer pink. Drain off any excess grease. Stir in the chili seasoning mix until the meat is coated.
  2. Add the tomatoes and beans to the skillet, mix well, and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes. (I always put my biscuits in just then, and they finish together.)

great dish. Today I made this dish the second time, and it didn't taste as great as the first time. Maybe it's the chili seasoning, but one thing I always remember is that it's spicy for kids.

This is one of my husband's favorites!

I just made this tonight and it was great! I followed the recipe exactly. I did steam some green beans as I felt the dinner needed more veggies, and my husband ended up mixing them in with this...

I'm not into sweets so it didn't appeal to me personally, but I had a few bites and it wasn't bad. Reminded me alot of sloppy joes. Hubby loved it and said he'd give it a six, and he hasn't giv...

My husband still loves this recipe, though I definitely kick it up a notch with a touch of some red and white pepper, a little mustard powder and touch of molasses. I like this meal since I watc...

Great basic recipe that can be tweaked to personal taste. I browned some diced yellow onion with the ground beef. Also, I thought it was missing something, so I added some spicy yellow mustard a...
