  • Prep

  • Cook

  • Ready In

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly oil a rimmed baking sheet.
  2. Place beaten eggs in a shallow bowl. Place bread crumbs in a separate bowl and mix with 1/2 cup of the shredded cheese.
  3. Dip chicken breasts in the egg mixture. Coat chicken breasts on all sides with bread crumbs. Place chicken breasts on prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake in preheated oven 20 minutes. Remove sheet from oven and top each breast with some marinara sauce. Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the breasts.
  5. Bake until cheese has melted and sauce is bubbly, about 10 more minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).

Footnotes

  • Cook's Notes:
  • I love chicken, marinara sauce, and cheese, so I was determined to make a recipe that I could "whip up" on a week night after a long day at work.
  • Serve with a side of pasta or salad and garlic bread.

I made this exactly as described. It was ok. I think it needed a bit more cheese. I served it over spaghetti noodles.

This was delicious and a very quick meal to prepare. My husband, both sons & I all enjoyed it. My only suggestion is to add some seasoning to the chicken beforehand (salt, pepper, etc.) Otherwis...

This was indeed very simple to make and turned out delicious! I made sure to use panko crumbs with the cheese for a nice crispy coating.

This was AWESOME! will add this to my favorite recipes. Everybody here ate it up and wanted more.

Such a quick and easy entree to prepare for dinner. Delicious served over pasta and topped with the cheesy marinara sauce.

This was fast to make and certainly deserves 5 stars. If I could suggest any change it would be to use Italian seasoned panko - this will give depth and a nice crunch. I didn't change the recipe...
