  1. In a 1 quart or 1 liter jar, layer the ingredients in the order listed. Attach a tag with the following instructions:
  2. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch pan. In the large bowl of an electric mixer, cream 1 cup butter or margarine, softened. Add 4 eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Add Brownie Mix and beat until smooth. Spread into greased pan and bake 40 to 50 minutes in the preheated oven, until a toothpick inserted into the center, comes out clean.

This tends to be dry & flaky on the top. I think if a little vegetable oil and water were added and maybe 1 egg reduced, it would be more moist. Otherwise, this was very chocolately & good.

I tied the pecans in a bag and attache with a ribbon to the jar because some people don't like nuts in their brownies. This gave them an option

Today I have used 3 recepies to make brownies and then did taste test comparisons with my sons. We all agree these are the best and far more superior than those we have ever bought in a bakery.(...

I made these as brownie bites in mini muffin tins. 350 F for 18-21 minutes and they were delicious. Makes 4 dozen.

this is my favorite brownie recipe, hands down. Perfect texture, freezes well and simple enough to remember even when I've lost the recipe!
