  1. Place green beans in a pot and cover with water; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer until beans start to soften, about 10 minutes. Drain water, leaving beans in the pot.
  2. Place bacon strips on a microwave-safe plate and cook in the microwave until crisp, about 2 minutes. Cool and crumble bacon.
  3. Stir butter and bacon into beans in the pot and return to medium heat; cook and stir until butter melts, 2 to 3 minutes. Add garlic; cook and stir until fragrant, 3 to 4 minutes. Top with lemon zest and stir.

  • Remove the bacon for a healthier dish. However, adding the bacon is a great option that adds great flavor to the beans.

Fairly easy and tasty. I only had 2.5 lbs of beans and used 1/4 cup of butter and that was PLENTY! I forgot to add the lemon zest and I am sure that would have been great to top it off. I als...

Great flavor. I used 4 pieces of bacon I cooked on the stove and only 1/4 cup of butter. Quick, simple, and delicious.

These were okay, but too much butter! I never thought I would say that, but these were swimming in it.
