  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, cook and stir the dried chipped beef in butter until evenly browned.
  2. In a medium bowl, whip the cream cheese, horseradish, green bell pepper, red bell pepper and pepper until well blended. Mix in 2/3 of the beef. Roll into a ball.
  3. Roll the ball in the remaining beef and the Cheddar cheese. Wrap in plastic and chill in the refrigerator at least 1 hour before serving.

This had a good flavor but it was waaay too salty. I guess that can't be helped, it's in the chipped beef and that's a main ingredient. I thought it might be salty so I added more horseradish ...

As written, I am only giving it 3 stars. My recipe only calls for 1 ONE jar of chipped beef. Sometimes, I also add a bit of chopped onion instead of horseradish.

WAY too salty.

don't make it unless you want your blood pressure to go sky high!

This was great, I even left out the horseradish. I didn't think it was too salty at all, however I thought the recipe calls for too much beef. Overall, best cheeseball I have ever had. :)
