  1. Preheat a waffle iron according to manufacturer's instructions.
  2. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together in a bowl. Whisk milk and egg yolks together in a separate bowl. Beat egg whites in a separate bowl using an electric mixer until stiff peaks form. Stir egg yolk mixture into flour mixture just until batter is moistened. Stir butter into batter and fold in egg whites.
  3. Ladle about 1/4 cup batter into preheated waffle iron and cook according to manufacturer's instructions until golden, about 5 minutes; repeat with remaining batter.

Cut salt in half. Added 3 tbsp. sugar and 1 tsp. vanilla. Original recipe had way too much salt.

Pretty good waffles! They were really fluffy and light, but had a great buttery flavor. I didn't give this 5 stars since I like my waffles a little bit more dense, but I would make these again.

Loved these waffles! I made these and topped them with a blueberry topping! Perfect!

Very light and fluffy. I think this is a great base recipe that I will add to depending on my mood more sweet or savory, can easily be changed to accomodate individual tastes.

This recipe has great consistency, but I like my waffles a little bit sweet, so I added 2/3cp of granulated sugar and a tsp of vanilla.
