  1. Place onion, olive oil, and garlic in a slow cooker. Arrange pork over onion mixture and add ale. Season with black pepper.
  2. Cook on Low for 6 to 8 hours. Drain and discard liquid from slow cooker. Shred pork with 2 forks and add barbeque sauce and liquid smoke.
  3. Continue to cook on Low for 2 more hours.

This was delicious.. I never have cooked with brown ale before and I like it very much. I used Sweet Baby Ray's Hickory BBQ sauce. Will definitely make this again next time pork is on sale
