  1. Spray the inside of a slow cooker with cooking spray.
  2. Bring milk to a boil in a small saucepan and remove from heat; let cool until lukewarm, about 10 minutes. Pour milk into a large bowl and stir in honey and yeast. Let the mixture stand until yeast begins to foam, about 5 minutes. Mix flour into milk mixture, 1 cup at a time, until dough is no longer sticky. Knead dough until elastic, about 2 minutes.
  3. Combine chicken and onion in a bowl; stir hot sauce into chicken mixture.
  4. Roll dough into a 12-inch circle and fit dough circle into slow cooker. Sides of dough circle may collapse. Pour tomato sauce inside dough, lifting dough sides if needed. Fill inside of dough with chicken mixture and top with 3/4 cup mozzarella cheese. Fold sides of dough over filling and sprinkle with remaining 1/4 cup mozzarella cheese.
  5. Cook on High until crust is cooked and filling is hot, about 2 1/2 hours. Cool slightly before serving.

Footnotes

  • Cook's Note:
  • You can use any tomato sauce or hot sauce you enjoy most. Also, when I remove it from the cooker, I usually take oven mitts to hold the sides of the slow cooker and flip the loaf onto a plate. Then I flip it right side up using another plate.
  • Easy Cleanup
  • Try using a liner in your slow cooker for easier cleanup.

I'll add more sauce and chicken next time. I used BBQ sauce but next time I'm using pizza sauce.

Very Good. I didn't boil the milk, because I was taught to never boil it. I did get it to lukewarm on the stove and the dough turned out really good. The dough is tasty. And it was super easy an...

I was amazed how good pizza can be in the crock pot! I did make some changes. I used gluten free flour. I couldn't taste the difference. I also used BBQ sauce because my kids don't like buffal...

Great idea!! Made a few modifications, including using spices and ranch instead of 1/2 cup hot sauce, added some spinach also! Probably will adjust the spices next time also. Still a little too ...
