  • Cook

  • Ready In

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook elbow macaroni in the boiling water, stirring occasionally, until cooked through but firm to the bite, 8 minutes. Drain.
  3. Cook and stir ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until meat is crumbly and browned, about 10 minutes; drain excess grease.
  4. Mix cooked ground beef, macaroni, pizza sauce, tomato sauce, and mushrooms in a bowl. Layer half the macaroni mixture into a 9x12-inch baking dish; top with 1/2 the mozzarella cheese. Layer remaining macaroni mixture over the top; sprinkle remaining mozzarella cheese over macaroni mixture. Cover dish with aluminum foil.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven until cheese has melted and casserole is bubbling, about 35 minutes. Let cool for 3 to 5 minutes before serving.

I left out the mushrooms but I added pepperoni

Most helpful critical review

My kids did not identify this with pizza - they kept saying it was just another pasta casserole. I'd make it again - but would definitely add in things like pepperoni, olives, etc.

I left out the mushrooms but I added pepperoni

Less expensive and faster than ordering a pizza. I used only one bag of Pizza Blend Cheese (2 cups, shredded.) I also added a teaspoon or two of Pizza Seasoning to the ground beef. If you're loo...

kept the mushrooms and added pepperoni, onions, and broccoli. My teenage boys absolutely LOVED it. Thank You for the idea. Kathy.

I made this one week for the kids to send in for a hot lunch for school in their thermos. They liked it and said it was very good and please make this again.

I added italian sausage and skipped the mushrooms for my husband. He was happy to get "pizza" and I was happy to have something different.

This casserole is great! My kids (ages 1 and 4) loved it! I skipped the mushrooms since I'm the only one who likes them and added a few slices of pepperoni.

I skipped the tomato sauce and added pepperoni and some parmesan came out great kids love it

I'm hack cooking dad and my boys loved it. We added extra cheese and we're glad we did. Great recipe!
