Jicama Zebra Fries

"Ever wonder what to do when you have too much jicama? Here's a quick guide to making a quick snack. Best served with barbeque sauce. The stripes on the fries are caused by the moisture escaping the jicama and creating fissures where the starch from the jicama collects and browns."

  1. Spray a microwave-safe plate with cooking spray. Arrange jicama pieces on plate.

This took closer to 15 min and never got nice "zebra" stripes. It was chewy and the kids hated it. My husband and I thought it was just ok. I'm gonna try roasting them in the oven next time

Had a ton of jicama left over and when I found this recipe, I thought, "What do I have to lose?" I followed the recipe exactly, microwaved it 4 minutes to start, then checked at 2 minute interv...

My first experience with Jicama and it was awesome. I added a little sea salt.

Was quite surprised how yummy this was. Sprinkled with a little salt and they tasted almost like french fries.

Wonderful alternative to"real" fries.
