  1. Heat a large pot over medium-high heat and stir in the sausage. Cook and stir until sausage is crumbly, evenly browned, and no longer pink, about 5 minutes. Drain and discard any excess grease.
  2. Stir onion and red bell pepper into sausage; cook and stir until vegetables begin to soften, about 3 minutes.
  3. Pour water into the pot; add Swiss chard, chicken bouillon, garlic salt, and Italian seasoning. Cover and reduce heat to medium-low; Simmer until vegetables are very tender, about 20 minutes.
  4. Sprinkle soup with Parmesan cheese before serving.

Wow, so delicious! I used two cloves of garlic and table salt instead of garlic salt, and sliced mild Italian sausage. I didn't do the pram as I didn't have any and it was just so yummy still. T...

This was an excellent soup, surpassed my expectations and I'll definitely be making this again. HOWEVER, with that said, one major and completely necessary modification that I made to this recip...

Excellent and modifiable. used very lean ground italian sausage, and mixed greens instead of swiss chard. i also used turkey stock instead of chicken broth and added some crimini mushrooms. FAN...

Awesome! Tastes very much like Italian Wedding soup.

This was our first time eating Swiss chard and my family loved this soup. I doubled the recipe, using a box of broth (16 Oz.) instead of bouillon and cutting back on the water ( 2C.) as suggeste...

This is so good, and better the next day. I'm not a big fan of bouillon, because of the ingredients, which are not healthy. I used four cups of chicken stock, and two cups of water.

Potatoes! This is a fantastic soup, I found this recipe while looking for something to make with some red chard. I happened to have some leftover sweet italian sausage, half a red pepper, and ha...
