  1. Spread the pineapple tidbits and juice evenly over the bottom of a slow cooker. Stab the pork roast as many times as you like with a fork to puncture so the flavors will penetrate the meat, then place into the slow cooker. Pour the rum over top, and arrange the orange slices around the pork roast. Place the pineapple rings on top of the roast, and place a maraschino cherry into the center of each ring. Sprinkle with brown sugar.
  2. Set the slow cooker on Low, and cook until the pork is fork tender, 6 to 8 hours. If desired, turn the pork over after 2 hours, then again at the-5 hour mark.

Footnotes

  • Easy Cleanup
  • Try using a liner in your slow cooker for easier cleanup.

I had a bunch of friends from work. We all work at night clubs in the city, so anything you can do with alcohol is, of course, a win. This was delicious! Easy to make, and makes you look like...

I felt challenged by all the bad reviews...I mostly followed the recipe, though I started by pan searing and seasoning with salt and pepper. I peeled and sectioned the oranges and used a tables...

Unimpressed!

I made this for supper the other night and the pork was VERY dry!

This got 4 stars from me, as I altered it a bit. I loved cooking w/ alcohol, and using spiced rum was a first for me, but I went with it - thinking rum drinks are sweet, and so I went for a swee...

I was excited to try this recipe but was disappointed.

I cooked it just like the recipe says and after six hours the pork turned out so dry!
