"Described as a chili-cheese fry casserole, the name of this recipe is a joke about how unhealthy it is, but it was a hit with my friends and a great snack for the Super Bowl. Simple and delicious."

  • Ready In

  1. Preheat an oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C).
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and stir in the ground beef. Cook and stir until the beef is crumbly, evenly browned, and no longer pink. Drain and discard any excess grease. Stir in the chili and mix thoroughly. Spread the chili mixture into a 9x13-inch baking pan then top with a single layer of the frozen potato rounds.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven until heated through and potato rounds are crisp, 18 to 22 minutes. Meanwhile, place the bacon in a large, deep skillet, and cook over medium-high heat, turning occasionally, until evenly browned, about 10 minutes. Drain the bacon slices on a paper towel-lined plate. Crumble bacon and set aside.
  4. Melt the processed cheese food in a microwave-safe glass or ceramic bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring after each melting, for 1 to 3 minutes (depending on your microwave). Pour melted cheese food over the potato rounds and top with bacon and chopped green onions.

I love the name! It totally suits this recipe, and we loved it! I used grated cheddar-mozza mix instead of the velveeta, it was great! We had this with a salad to feel somewhat balanced.

Holy Yummy this was good. I spread an 8oz package of cream cheese to the bottom of the pan, then added the meat, sprinkled sharp cheddar, added the tater tots and added some queso after it was ...

The Coronary Culinary Institute gives; “Two hardened arteries up!”..also topped ours off with sliced black olives and jalapeño peppers.

This recipe was good but i used the veletta, big mistake. It didn't mix in well. Next time we try this I will be using regular shredded cheddar and putting it under the tater tots so it feels mo...

My boyfriend thinks I should rate this 4 stars due to the unhealthiness of the dish. But that's the entire point of the dish! I did make some modifications: I added some pickled sliced jalapenos...

This was a big hit in my house!!! I used graded cheddar instead of velveeda and mixed it all together instead of layering it. I like some heat too so I added some jalapinos too! Will make this y...

Just what I expected, gooey, cheesy, greasy, yumminess. Not for the faint of heart, though. We were all miserable after consuming. That's the point though right?

My son and I loved this recipe. My husband was so so about it. Only thing different I did was slice the Velveeta and layer it on top the last 5 minutes of baking and it melted just fine.

If you make this, leave the Velveeta off, and just use shredded cheddar or whatever you like. One person I made it for, said the chili with beans, Hormel, had WAY too many beans, so she will mak...
